Lame on a Friday

Yea, it’s Friday and yes I am being lame sitting on my couch, drinking a latte while enjoying the silence of no one being in my place. Is it lame that I cherish the moments when I get to be at home all by myself? I hope other people are like that too. It’s nice to just be alone with your own thoughts so you can do whatever it is you please with no one else in your way. Not saying I don’t love my fiance, but sometimes it’s just nice to have the place to yourself.

So I keep on getting these emails from this Jeff Walker guy about his product launch formula. He sends videos in every single email that he sends and every single one of them are intriguing. His videos are about how to create a launch for whatever product it is that you’re selling. His words are lingering in my mind. He says things like, “have you tried all the usual approaches and are stagnant and not moving?” I think hmm yes I have tried usual approaches and it’s not resonating with me just yet. So, the question I keep asking myself here is, maybe what others have done in this industry isn’t what I should be doing. I’ve followed the pro’s before who say to reach out to hundreds of people, make your lists and track people down.

I tried that for a few weeks, and felt horrible reaching out to people who I haven’t spoken to in years. It’s not that I didn’t want to say hi to those people, it’s that I wasn’t comfortable only reaching out to them with the intent to tell them about my product. I didn’t want people to feel like that was the only reason I was speaking to them. So, in a lot of the cases I would barely speak about what I am doing because it didn’t feel right to. I really do care about the people I was speaking to and I just couldn’t make it into a sales pitch. Yes, I know Young Living products are amazing and if you care about the people you’re speaking to, you should tell them what the products can do for them. Not only can they help them with their health, it can also provide them financial freedom as well. I get it peeps, stop thinking that in your head as you read this. I’m not making excuses about why I felt uncomfortable, I’m just saying that it wasn’t comfortable for me to track people down just for a sale. Not my thang…  Or… lol – Maybe I’m just crappy with sales (that probably is it) because I know others are really successful with this approach. I know the products literally do sell themselves, I just have to feel comfortable with my pitch. Haven’t figured the pitch out just yet, but I’m learning.

One thing I’ve also learned is that I can’t compare myself to others in the same industry. It’s really crappy when people say to you “oh did you hear about ______ she went from zero to (insert rank here) in three weeks! She did this and it worked, how come it hasn’t worked for you? Are you trying those things, have you done what she did” But wait, what did he or she actually do? I don’t know… All you hear is their rank and how they are amazing and fart rainbows, but you don’t.

One, that isn’t a way to motivate someone, two I’m on my own path and I don’t need to be compared to someone else. What might work for one person may not work for another. I’m convinced that each individual has to feel comfortable in whatever approach he or she uses and that approach will work. You can’t be forced into trying something that literally doesn’t resonate with you and expect it to work. From my understanding, the Universe doesn’t work that way. You have to be in alignment with your actions for the manifestations to actually appear

I’ve decided to really analyze what resonates with me and I’m realizing that I need to leverage the web much much more. It feels right to me. Things like online classes and creating online content for people to view seems key in this day and age. I’ll keep y’all posted on what I figure out and what resonates with me and what works and what doesn’t work. Because, I’m doing this and I’m not giving up. I KNOW I can do this.

Ha, wow… Just got an email from my upline about a lady who sells It Works who has made it all the way to the top and she is going to share HOW she did it. I guess I will tune in and see what I can learn.

To those of you out there in a Network Marketing business, hang in there. Don’t compare yourself to others in your industry. Be yourself, love what you do and let the pieces fall in place. No matter what, don’t give up. Your time is near. If others can do it, so can you.

Cheers to health, wealth and abundance on our rides of life 🙂
