Lately, I have become absolutely intrigued by females who have worked their butts off (literally) to get into shape. From looking at Pinterest or Facebook, I am inspired to get my own butt into shape. I mean, who can resist staring at those girls butts that are like the epitome of “Apple Bottom Jeans?” You know what I am talking about, you come across some hot chick in your news feed that is posted up in the mirror holding her cell phone with her butt to the mirror and she has some tight leggings on. Obviously, she’s like – look at my butt y’all, I do squats. From seeing these pics, I read a blog yesterday about when you should eat, what you should eat and what you should avoid because I too would like a butt like that. And no, I doubt I will post one of those pictures of myself because I’m too bashful. But who knows, when you have an amazing butt, you just might have to show it off.
As a side note – it’s 8am in the morning and Doug is actually awake with me. I tell him to drink his healthy shake that I made and he sits down and farts and says “Good Morning!” Yea, that’s what I live with. Wow. Now he’s on my case for not giving Buddy a treat. And then he sees that I loaded the dishwasher. Apparently loading dishes into a dishwasher is just not my forte – he says “Uh oh, Ashley loaded the dishwasher, I wonder what’s going to come out of there when it’s done.” I obviously can’t win this morning. It’s cool though readers, I’ll get him later with a punch to the arm or a throat chop.
So now back to what I was talking about. Geez… Um ok – I read it’s important to eat or have a shake or just something that is healthy in the morning within an hour of waking. We should never skip breakfast. Ok, ok I skip breakfast a lot of times and opt out for my wonderful almond milk latte’s. I know it’s bad but it’s so much easier than putting everything together and making a shake. But will that give me the abs I have been working on? Nope. I woke at 7:30 today and am drinking my shake with my good ole Young Living Protein powder in it as I type this. Then, (well hopefully Doug will go with me) we will go for a little jog because Cardio in the morning apparently is amazing.
I also read that it’s important to eat every 2-3 hours where your main meal should be about 2 hours prior to working out. The whole eating every 2-3 hours doesn’t mean big huge meals at each of those times, it means to have little healthy snacks in between. The little snacks can be right before your workout so you have enough energy to get through heavy lifting (if that’s what is in your workout). After your workout, you need to eat within an hour and eat protein! Your body is searching for protein after you lift weights so don’t deprive your body of them!
Oh and one more thing. Alcohol is bad. It shouldn’t be in your diet if you want to get in shape 😦 I love me some dark beers but I have a cruise coming up so I’m going to try my best to ixnay them. Yep, that’s deserving of another sad face :-(.
So, if you’re looking for abs, a good butt and just overall good health, focus on your eating! It’s more than half the battle! If you’re working out a ton and eating like crap, you’re going to get nowhere!
I went and found the blog I read and want to pass on the info, so here’s the link:
