I’ve had ups and downs with this whole network marketing ordeal and know that ultimately it’s what I am meant for. If you are wondering, what in the heck do I do, how do I build this…! Then keep reading. I’m going to share what has been working for me lately and what I have learned from the pro’s who are making millions a year.
- Social media is for building trust not to bombard people with the stuff you sell. I don’t mean for you to not post anything about the stuff that you’re doing with whatever product you’re selling. Just don’t say things like “I’ve got 2 spots on my team open, who’s ready!?” Who wants to join that persons team? NO ONE. I actually want to stop following those people because no, I see no value in joining your team. Why would I want to join your team? What you should do with Social Media is post things like, “check out how great this product is and look what it did for me!” That way, people can see the value of your product in an organic way. Pushing your crap on people is not the way to sell to them.
- Create a list of 100 people that you are comfortable talking with. I have battled with this idea because I don’t want to be a slime bag reaching out to people only to sell them something. I had to get over this because I realized that that’s not what I am doing. What I am doing is realizing that what I have found in network marketing and the products I sell are for an amazing lifestyle that I want to share with people. That’s all I am doing and what you should do too. I am showing people that the products are great and that there is an opportunity out there that may or may not be suited for them. So here’s what you say to those 100 people. “Hey (person’s name). Just wanted to reach out to you because I’ve joined an awesome Network Marketing company and I’m absolutely loving it (you may be aware of this from the posts I’ve been doing)! I know I have never flat out asked you for ten minutes of your time so I can share the opportunity with you. I think you would be absolutely perfect. I’m busy right now, but do you have ten minutes over the next few days or early next week where I can skype with you or meet you for some coffee so I can share my opportunity with you?” That’s it, keep it simple and mark off on your list that you reached out to them and the date.
- Go to the company events, do their online courses (if they have them), really study the products and learn the compensation plan. If you hardly know anything about the products and how you will be compensated, how are you going to teach anyone about the opportunity????
- Go to and participate at vendor events! If your product is in the health industry, find events that are centered around that. If not, then find vendor events that fit into the category that is in best alignment with the industry that you are in.
- Host house parties or have events at venues that are cheap. I have learned that you can do parties at your house BUT and that’s a big BUT, people look at those like Tupperware parties. Sorry if you’re reading this and doing Tupperware, it’s just the best example I could come up with. They know that when you invite them that you want them to come so they will buy something. To avoid this, make sure the invite shows the value that they will get from coming. From what I have heard, it’s much better to have meetings at venues. I am going to be setting some up for later this month or early next month at actual venues. I will keep you all posted on if they work better than home parties.
In the end, just think about what you would actually respond to if someone invited you to learn about something. If they made you feel like they only wanted to talk with you so you’d buy something from them, you’d not want to talk with them at all. If you have found products that you love and you want to share it with people, let it be genuine. Make sure people know that you care about them and the reason why you’re sharing is because you think you can help them. If they say no, it’s ok. Don’t let it bother you. Some people are meant for this industry and others are not. Just keep your focus and move forward.
I hope this helps you all! I’m just now really embarking on this and just followed step 2 to the “T” and I have set up 8 appointments!!!! That’s pretty cool right!
