Gosh, I love latte’s. It’s my morning ritual to turn on my little latte machine, pour some almond milk in my metal cup and steam it. I have some Ethiopian espresso with caffeine in my grinder as I type this and am wondering if it’s “really all that bad for me.” Either way, bad or not – I’m sipping a latte as I write this. With every sip I take, I wonder what is really in this drink. Is it good or bad, I don’t really know. I mean it does speed up your digestive system so that’s kind of nice. For you coffee connoisseurs, you know what I’m talking about.
Here and there I read medical news today articles just to keep my knowledge on what’s current in the health world up to snuff. Low and behold, the top article today is “Does your coffee contain mycotoxins?” So, as I drink my latte, I read on.
A study shows that mycotoxins which are “toxic metabolites produced by fungi in commercial coffee… [leads] to concerns about public health risks.”
Dr. Ferrer states that mycotoxins are created by filamentous fungi are “cause disease and health issues… [that] can be carcinogenic and may affect the hormonal and immune systems.” You can breath these in or ingest them, she says.
Mycotoxin levels found in some coffee exceeds the recommended limit.
A study was done in Spain where I think there are more strict rules on what the people eat. They found that one form of a mycotoxin exceeded the recommended limit. If in Spain, the levels are too high, what are we drinking in the United States where consumption of coffee is astronomical?
In my opinion, we don’t have that strict of regulations on our food. We accept a whole lot more things to eat than does Europe, which scares me a little about coffee. What is really in our coffee? Am I drinking Myctoxins? Are you as you read this? Is drinking this going to lead to cancer down the road and if it does, will we attribute it to coffee or our food?
I have to wonder if other people think this way. We need to know what we are eating so we can protect ourselves as best as we can. It just sucks that we all love coffee so much. I mean, I just gulped down another drink of my latte. Ugh, is this really that bad for me?
Although I don’t knor for sure, I am going to start limiting consumption of coffee.
For those of you who would like to slow down on the drinking of coffee, my fiance and I have come across somewhat of a solution. No, it doesn’t taste like coffee but it sure is a healthy alternative. It’s called Nyngxia Zyng. It’s all natural, gives you energy and has natural lime and black pepper oils in it. It’s preservative free with no artificial anything and tastes really freaking good. It only has 8 grams of natural sugar in it and only 35 calories. It’s literally the BEST energy drink on the market. Go and grab a Red Bull or Monster drink and look at the amount of calories and sugar. It’s horrible. Everyone needs to switch to Nyngxia Zyng.
I’m not saying I won’t drink a latte here and there, but I’m glad I have an alternative.
