Only So Much Time

The past 7 years have been the busiest of my life. I worked full time and went to school full time. I was literally on the go every night of the week and spent most weekends studying while juggling having a boyfriend and somewhat of a social life. Now that I have the time in the evenings to do something that I want and believe in, I find myself needing some time to chill out.

Granted I have had some pretty big bumps in the road lately that have made me start to feel like this. My family says it’s just what I need. I need to take a step back and relax and I deserve it. But, the question I keep asking myself is (and I wonder if other’s do this to themselves as well); “why am I feeling guilty for relaxing?”

Why is it so embedded in our culture that we have to be on the go every minute of everyday, building a business or doing something productive? I see posts everywhere about a new millionaire, or someones new car or their successes and I have this inherit drive to do the same thing. I want to be a millionaire, shoot, I want to be a billionaire. I know that I CAN do that. The universe is aligning in my favor and I do believe that I’m embarking on some really big things.

However, I think there is so much that can be gained from just taking the time to re-center yourself. That means it’s ok to sit alone and be quiet and not look at anything electronic. It’s ok to take a step back. It’s ok to let go of the world’s pressures and feel good about yourself.

I just only hope that the busy men and women out there who push themselves so much get to stop and take a look around them and see the good that’s there. Trust me, I’ve had my days where I don’t see the good and sometimes it’s hard. We’re always striving for something better and will let ourselves be happy when we reach that goal. BUT, when do you stop making goals, when do you stop trying to reach the next level and when do you decide that all that you have accomplished is enough? When do you decide that you’re content?

Do you just know? Do you just stop and put your feet in the sand and soak up the sun? I certainly hope so.

That’s why I am doing what I am doing with Young Living. I want a life where I can take phone calls while I’m on the beach. I want freedom and so many things that comes from being your own boss in a network marketing company. I mean, I am sure there are TONS of people who love the corporate life and yes there are so many pros to doing that. I get it. I will continue to work in the corporate world until Young Living is supporting me and Doug is financially independent as well.

All I want to say here is to chase your dreams, but know that it’s ok to take a step back and relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor. We only have so much time and we have to make the best of it. Whether it’s knowing when to relax, when to go full force or when to decide you’ve done enough, it’s your choice to make. If you want an office where your feat are in the sand, message me. Let’s make it a reality together. Life is too short to not do this!

    1. I used the basic and free theme Canard. I have done nothing special to it. 🙂 If you want to discuss further how I organized the tabs on the top, please go to the contact me section which will send me a private email and we can connect! Thanks!

  12. First off I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear
your head before writing. I’ve had a hard time clearing
my thoughts in getting my ideas out. I do take pleasure
in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost just trying to figure out how to
begin. Any suggestions or tips? Many thanks!

    1. Hi there! Thank you! Well, I try and take a moment and just focus on my breathing and let the idea for the post come to me. I don’t always know what I am going to talk about until I type a title that sounds intriguing. I don’t have that great of advice to give on how to center yourself because everyone is different. Sometimes, I will breath in Stress Away oil or Frankincense to help clear my mind so I can type. Hope that helps a bit! Have a good one!
