This past week, I have spoken to two moms who are going through some hard times with their kiddos because they’re sick. I know, I don’t have kids. I know moms out there who read this are going to be like – “Um, what does she know? She doesn’t have a kid.” And then I’m going to say, “Ok, this is true, you got me on that one! But, what I have learned about supporting a healthy body (a grownups body) pertains to kids as well. So, let me tell you about what I have learned that can help you.” Afterall, a kids body is just a smaller grownup’s body, right? Yes, yes kids have different needs than do grownups. I know there are lots of differences. What I am shooting for here is to just show that what us grownups use on ourselves to stay healthy can also be used by your kids.
Now we all know that Winter is coming. Fall is already here and icky things start going around. Germs can be spread so many ways and we need a line of defense. Our line of defense is the immune system.
But what is the immune system?
The immune system is built of, what I would like to call warriors. Warriors that are our first line of defense against infections and sickness. The warriors are “antibodies, white blood cells and other chemicals and proteins that attack and destroy substances such as bacteria, and viruses that they recognize as foreign and different from the body’s normal healthy tissues” (Healthwise Staff, WebMD). It’s made up of the tonsils and thymus, lymph node vessels (the lymphatic system), bone marrow, the spleen and white blood cells (Healthwise Staff, WebMD).
I don’t know about you, but I want all of those things in my body to be functioning well during the Fall and Winter months. No, I want them to be thriving. So now I bet you’re wondering, what can I do to make sure that’s the case?
- Eat Healthy – A balanced diet is key. So that means soda and sugar is no bueno. Yes, we all love it and no it’s not good for us so try your best to limit or cut it out of your diet. That goes along with cheeseburgers, fast food, processed food… But I’m sure you all already know that stuff is bad for you, so I won’t harp on it. Here’s a good link to read about some super foods to help boost your immune system.
- Use Thieves oil. Thieves oil is a natural immune system supporter. It’s a blend of :
- Clove – Supports a healthy immune system in general
- Lemon – Supports healthy digestion, circulation and lymphatic functions
- Cinnamon bark – Supports a healthy immune system in general
- Eucalyptus – Supports a healthy immune system in general
- Rosemary – Supports a healthy immune system in general
- Exercise – I hope you know what this is… If not, contact me and we can talk about it.
Thieves can be used two different ways:
- Topically – apply directly to the skin (some may want to dilute it down with a carrier oil like Young Living’s V-6 oil, coconut or olive oil). Best place to put the oil is the bottoms of the feet. We have the most nerve endings there and it will quickly permeate through the body through this approach.
- Diffuse – Place about 15 drops into a diffuser with water (picture of a diffuser is below in case you have no idea what I’m talking about) and diffuse every 3 to 4 hours.
What is awesome about Thieves and all the recommendations above, is that all ages can do/use it! It’s safe for babies and the elderly. Kids that have just recently gone back to school may not be getting the nutrition that they need, and you may not be either. But what you can do is keep Thieves in your purse and rub some on everyday to help support your immune system. It’s like a secret little weapon that I keep in my purse. I’m like “mwahahahaha little germies! I will rub this on and my immune system will now be boosted to fight you!” And you my friends, can do this to. It’s easy peasy.
Thanks all!

I use thieves everyday! I prefer to rubb on bottoms of my feet ,with lemon oil,it gives me an immune boost, and prevents athletes foot from returning.
